SLIM AARONS (1916-2006)

Slim Aarons is acknowledged as one of the most influential photographers of his generation, known for his portraits of socialites and celebrated figures at play in beautiful settings. After serving as a combat photographer during World War II, he returned home and worked as a freelance magazine photographer documenting jet-set European and American lifestyles. His body of work evokes a distinct glamour and grace of midcentury America, capturing what he often said were “attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.”
