Sherry Karver

California artist Sherry Karver uses mixed media to create images that confront today’s individual and societal issues. Born in Chicago, she received her BA from Indiana University and her MFA from Tulane. She began her work as a ceramicist, eventually transitioning into a photography-based multimedia practice. Her background in sculptural mediums is apparent through her artistic process of adding detail to her pieces in layers. She combines her photographs with painting, digital technology, narrative text, and resin mounted on wood panels.
