Jan Gauthier

Jan Gauthier looks to her northern California surroundings for inspiration for her landscape and still life photographs.  Her work offers simple and calm compositions, often exploring the juxtaposition of science and nature. Jan’s process combines elements of photography and painting, beginning with a traditional gelatin silver print. Warm tones are added using a variety of toners, wax and oil-based pigments. Through this process, her work captures a unique atmospheric mood.
