Artist Statement/bio

Inspired by nature and his personal aviary of birds, Hunt Slonem is renowned for his distinct neo-impressionist style of painting. He is best known for his series of bunny, butterfly and tropical bird paintings, all depicted with lavish color, thick brushstrokes and texture. Hunt is also well known for his large-scale sculptures and his meticulous restoration of forgotten historic homes, filled with his collections. Slonem’s works can be found in the permanent collections of 250 museums around the world, including the Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney, the Miro foundation and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
